Asthma-Management: Soll man früher eskalieren?

Hohe Eosinophile und erhöhtes FeNO sind synergistisch mit einem höheren Exazerbationsrisiko verbunden.
Die Prävalenz von Asthma beträgt in Österreich laut LEAD-Studie (1) 4,6% und betrifft rund 400.000 Menschen. Die klinischen Erfahrungen bestätigen die klassischen Verlaufsformen:
- früh beginnendes, allergisches Asthma, meist gut kontrollierbar
- Late-onset-Asthma mit eosinophiler Signatur und höherem Anteil schwerer Verläufe
- Mischformen mit allergischer Vorgeschichte und späterer inflammatorischer Reaktivierung
